About the Chateau Carlmagnus Fronsac
Crafted in the historic Fronsac appellation on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, France, Château Carlmagnus is a dynamic, highly acclaimed estate named as a tribute to Emperor Charlemagne, who once built a fortress on the hills of Fronsac. Owned and managed by winemaker and artist Arnaud Roux-Oulié, the estate's high-elevation vineyards sit atop an exceptional clay-limestone plateau overlooking the Dordogne Valley. Dominated by Merlot blended with a touch of Cabernet Franc, the vines benefit from ideal exposure, deep limestone root penetration, and precise sustainable viticulture. Vinified in oak and wooden vats with advice from famed consultant Hubert de Boüard (of Château Angélus), the wine is aged for 12 to 14 months in fine French oak barrels. The result is a plush, vibrant, and modern Right Bank red that delivers extraordinary concentration, succulent dark fruit density, and sophisticated structure at an incredible value
Food Pairing: Grilled prime ribeye steak, roasted rack of lamb, braised beef short ribs, pork tenderloin with plum reduction, wild mushroom ragù, and aged hard cheeses like Comté or Gouda.
