98 Points - James Suckling
Exceptionally long and polished, the 2022 Domaine de Chevalier displays beautiful silky tannins that flow seamlessly across the palate. Medium-bodied, with currants, blackberries, minerals and crushed stone, it combines vibrant, crunchy freshness with remarkable finesse and structure. Transparent and precise, this is an impressive expression with considerable aging potential. Best from 2029 onward.
96 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Produced during Olivier Bernard's 40th harvest at the estate, this is a rich and structured Domaine de Chevalier with powerful tannins and concentrated black fruit. Considerable depth and underlying structure give the wine excellent potential for development. Barrel
96 Points - Wine Spectator
A beautifully polished core of cassis and cherry reduction is complemented by warm cast iron, bay leaf and tobacco. Violet and singed chestnut provide additional aromatic complexity, while impressive purity, depth and structure carry through the lengthy finish. An authoritative Pessac-Leognan composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2028 through 2042.
96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2022 Domaine de Chevalier offers dark wild berries, spices, smoke and licorice framed by carefully integrated oak. Medium- to full-bodied, concentrated and rich, it combines an elegant, fleshy fruit core with abundant powdery tannins and a long, delicate dark berry finish. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc, it reflects the estate's increasingly refined and less overtly oaky style.
