About the Philippe Colin Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Crafted in the esteemed Puligny-Montrachet appellation of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, France, Domaine Philippe Colin Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru is an extraordinary, highly coveted blue-chip white Burgundy that represents the pinnacle of Chardonnay winemaking. Perched directly above the famed Le Montrachet Grand Cru vineyard, Chevalier-Montrachet features steep, east-facing slopes characterized by thin, stony soils rich in active limestone and white marl. Philippe Colin, a master of Chassagne and Puligny terroirs, farms his minute holdings with rigorous precision. Following gentle whole-cluster pressing, the wine undergoes indigenous yeast fermentation and extended maturation in French oak barrels (approximately 50% new oak) on its fine lees. The result is a White Burgundy of monumental power, intense mineral tension, crystalline purity, and decades-long cellaring potential.
Food Pairing: Butter-poached lobster, pan-seared sea scallops with caviar, roasted turbot, truffled poultry dishes, veal sweetbreads, and aged artisanal French cheeses like Comté or Époisses.
