About the Jean-Etienne Chermette Pinot Noir Tresor de Maurice
Crafted in the rolling, high-elevation hills of Southern Burgundy and northern Beaujolais, Domaine Pierre-Marie Chermette Pinot Noir "Trésor de Maurice" is an exceptional, micro-cuvée red wine created by Jean-Étienne Chermette as an homage to his grandfather, Maurice. Sourced from a prized single-parcel of old-vine Pinot Noir planted on clay-limestone soils overlying granite bedrock, this bottling reflects the intersection of Burgundian finesse and artisanal Beaujolais winemaking traditions. The Chermette family practices sustainable and organic viticulture, hand-harvesting the low-yielding fruit at peak maturity. Fermented naturally using wild, indigenous yeasts without chaptalization or heavy extraction, the wine is matured in neutral oak barrels and neutral foudres to preserve its pure varietal expression. The result is a concentrated, complex, and silky Pinot Noir with outstanding cellaring potential.
Food Pairing: Duck breast with cherry compote, roasted rack of pork, seared salmon with herbs, braised veal cutlets, wild mushroom risotto, and soft artisanal cheeses such as Brie de Meaux, Reblochon, or Delice de Bourgogne.
