CheckMate 'Attack' Chardonnay 2014

CheckMate 'Attack' Chardonnay 2014 is an expressive, highly sophisticated single-varietal white wine produced by CheckMate Artisanal Winery in the Okanagan Valley. Sourced from fruit grown in the Black Sage Bench and Osoyoos East Bench, this wine was fermented and aged for 16 months in large French oak foudres. In the glass, it exhibits a brilliant golden hue. The nose opens with aromas of flint, sea salt, white peach, and orange blossom, complemented by hints of subtle five-spice and toasted butter cookie. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied with a rich, textured mouthfeel and vibrant acidity, delivering complex flavors of citrus, lychee, Asian pear, and mineral earthiness that extend into a long, savoury finish.

Food Pairing: Pairs exceptionally well with pan-seared sea scallops, fresh Dungeness crab with drawn butter, roasted halibut, lobster risotto, and creamy poultry dishes.
