About the CheckMate 'Attack' Chardonnay 2020
CheckMate 'Attack' Chardonnay 2020 is an exceptionally crafted single-varietal white wine produced by CheckMate Artisanal Winery in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley. Fermented and aged completely in large French oak foudres, this expression blends fruit from select site vineyards including the Jagged Rock and Border Vista parcels. In the glass, it shows a pale straw-yellow color with vibrant clarity. The complex nose displays enticing aromas of fresh lemon, warm pie crust, floral limeade, and subtle saline seaweed nuances. On the palate, it delivers an understated elegance with structured flavors of spiced pear, mandarin orange, pineapple, and citrus pith, balanced by vibrant natural acidity and a mouthwatering, sea-salt-driven finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs brilliantly with pan-seared sea scallops, butter-poached lobster, fresh Dungeness crab, roasted halibut, cream-sauce poultry, and wild mushroom risotto.
