Still tightly wound, it hints at rather than fully reveals its greatness. Smooth, silky tannins frame vibrant blackberry and cassis fruit, supported by tingling minerality and an electric sense of freshness. A quiet confidence builds steadily across the palate as layers of flavor unfold, while delicate notes of violet and peony emerge subtly on the finish. An extraordinary wine that ranks among the finest ever produced at the estate. Just 31% of the harvest was selected for the Grand Vin, with the same proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon as the 2005 vintage. The blend is completed with 2% Petit Verdot.
