About the Chateau Maillet 2019
Situated in the heart of Pomerol, Château Maillet reveals alluring aromas of black cherry, ripe plum, blackberry, violet, cocoa, and cedar. Richly textured yet graceful, it offers velvety tannins, vibrant freshness, layered complexity, and a lingering finish that beautifully reflects its distinguished Right Bank terroir.
Food Pairing: Pair with beef tenderloin, roast duck, lamb chops, truffle risotto, wild mushrooms, aged Gruyère, braised short ribs, or venison.
95 Points - James Suckling
Subtle blackberry, dark mushroom and dark-purple fruit aromas with some stone, following through to a full body with solid structure and presence. It’s tannic and muscular and builds on the palate at the end. Yet, it’s not overpowering. Solid and traditional. Needs time to soften. Try after 2025.
