Rich yet cool in character, it offers notes of licorice, graphite, plum, cherry and cranberry. Layers of freshness and classic Pauillac precision encourage another sip. Leaner and more streamlined than the 2022, it is focused, with tannins that currently show firmness but will soften beautifully over time. A blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (75% new), it is medium- to full-bodied with a concentrated, layered palate, beautiful building tannins and outstanding length. A refined and impressive 2023 that deserves 5–7 years of bottle age and should age gracefully for three decades. Rating: 96+.

Chunky tannins are balanced by well-integrated acidity, leading to a long, expansive finish. The blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, matured in 75% new oak, reflects the vintage with a straighter, more tensile mid-palate than is typical for the estate.
