About the Chateau Lions De Batailley 2022 750ml
Quintessential Bordeaux from Château Batailley. We are delighted to offer their second label, Lions de Batailley (named after the Lions statues that guard the gate). Made from younger vines along with some fruit that goes into their Grand Vin, it tastes reassuringly like the Batailley that we know and love. Wonderfully soft and approachable, mostly Cabernet Sauvignon you can’t go wrong… “pure and so pretty… full and very silky.” “Full and generous”.
The 2022 Lions de Batailley exemplifies classic Pauillac elegance—rich dark fruits and vibrant energy balanced by fine-grained tannins and refined structure.
A very tight and typical Batailley with medium to full body, linear and racy tannins, which are pure and focused. Spicy finish. Compacted.
94 Points - James Suckling
Blackberry, blueberry, blackcurrant and mint aromas follow through to a medium body with fine tannins and a refined and pretty finish. It's tight now, but shows a lovely texture. 72% cabernet sauvignon, 24% merlot, 2% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot.
