The Lassègue 2017 shows a brilliant and profound color. The pure aromatics leap out from the first aeration, showing a panoply of fresh red fruit, and evoking notes of rose and violet. On the palate, the attack is dense and round, with already silky tannins. The midpalate displays a fine complexity of spices and ripe fruits that extends into a long and balanced finish. This vintage exudes freshness and refined minerality.

A floral touch from the first nose, smoky but delicate, with a powerful and surprisingly supple touch to the tannins. This must be one of the best 2017s in St-Emilion. So much smoke and grilled chocolate add layers of interest to the berry fruits.

The 2017 Lassegue displays a deep garnet-purple color and quite a spicy nose giving up black pepper, cinnamon and cloves notes over a core of crème de cassis and preserved plums with a waft of dusty soil. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a firm frame of chewy tannins and tons of black fruit layers, finishing long and spicy.

Pretty core of black fruits enveloped in a ball of tight yet muscular tannins. Solid concentration, but it’s married with acid drive and finesse.
