About the Chateau Lagrange 2022
Chateau Lagrange is a distinguished Saint Julien Grand Cru Classe celebrated for its balance, refinement, and exceptional aging potential. Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, graphite, violet, and subtle spice lead to a polished palate with silky tannins, vibrant freshness, and a long, elegant finish.
Food Pairing: Pair with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, venison, mushroom dishes, or aged Comte for a classic Left Bank Bordeaux experience.
96 Points - Decanter
Juicy and intensely ripe in terms of texture, the tannins are fleshy yet remarkably cool, creating a push-pull between bright acidity and serious mineral notes of flint and licorice. There is an appealing weight on the palate, layered and structured with expressive fruit and lively juiciness, all combining into a stylish and inviting whole. So much is happening here, yet everything is managed with finesse and elegance. A clear success in 2022.
95 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
Cassis, ripe black cherries, freshly sharpened pencils, leather and violet notes all shine in the 2022 Château Lagrange, a remarkably pure, concentrated and powerful Saint-Julien with fine tannins and a seamless, balanced mouthfeel. It already has the fruit to impress today, as is the case with many of the top Médoc wines.
95 Points - James Suckling
A polished and expressive Saint-Julien that shows spot-on balance. Fresh blueberries, wet stones, currants and a touch of red berries. Medium- to full-bodied with fine, chalky tannins that are firm yet beautifully integrated. Precise, juicy and focused, with excellent balance and length.
94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2022 Château Lagrange has turned out beautifully in bottle, offering classic aromas of crème de cassis, plums and pencil shavings framed by a deft touch of oak vanillin. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and velvety, with lively acidity and chalky tannins, it is an especially muscular, rich Lagrange that will reward a bit of patience.
