About the Chateau La Tour Carnet 2014
Château La Tour Carnet is a historic Fourth Growth Haut-Médoc with expressive aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, plum, cedar, graphite, tobacco, and sweet baking spices. Firm yet polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and concentrated fruit create a refined, full-bodied palate with exceptional depth, elegance, and long aging potential.
Food Pairing: Pair with beef Wellington, roast lamb, grilled ribeye, duck breast, venison, aged Comté, or truffle-infused mushroom dishes.
93 Points - James Suckling
Brilliant aromas of blackberries, fresh mushrooms and dried flowers. Black licorice as well. Full-bodied, tight and silky with ripe tannins and a linear line to it. Wet earth and spices. Drink in 2020.
92 Points - Wine Enthusiast
This wine shows a dense structure marked with concentrated tannins and black plum fruits. The wine is rich and full on the palate, with just the right amount of fresh acidity to give it a lift.
Barrel Sample: 91-93
88 Points - Wine Spectator
Solid, delivering a core of lightly steeped red and black currant fruit liberally laced with savory and tobacco leaf notes. This has a frankly toasty frame on the finish, but the fruit pushes through. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2020. 40,000 cases made, 4,500 cases imported.
