About the Chateau Haut-Simard 2016
Chateau Haut-Simard 2016 is a refined Right Bank Bordeaux with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, plum, violet, cedar, and subtle spice. Mature and beautifully balanced, it offers silky tannins, fresh acidity, elegant mineral complexity, and a long, polished finish that reflects the Vauthier family's meticulous winemaking.
Food Pairing: Pair with roast lamb, grilled ribeye, duck breast, beef tenderloin, mushroom dishes, or aged Gruyere for a classic Saint-Emilion pairing.
93 Points - James Suckling
A reductive twist frames fresh red and purple fruit with a slightly exotic character and hints of plum compote. The palate is linear and focused, showing excellent persistence and precision through the long finish. A blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc. Best from 2022.
90 Points - Wine Enthusiast
This concentrated wine offers rich tannins, layers of spice and generous, full-bodied fruit. Despite its density, it retains the freshness that defines the vintage, giving it excellent balance and aging potential. Drink from 2022.
