About the Chateau Haut-Brion 2002
One of Bordeaux's greatest wines, Château Haut-Brion reveals extraordinary aromas of cassis, blackberry, cigar box, graphite, cedar, smoked earth, and exotic spice. Powerful yet effortlessly elegant, it delivers silky tannins, exceptional complexity, and legendary aging potential.
Food Pairing: Pair with beef Wellington, roast lamb, venison, duck breast, truffle dishes, aged Comté, or wild mushroom risotto.
94 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
The 2002 Château Haut-Brion is a beautifully pure, layered and classically styled expression of the estate. Still showing a healthy plum hue with minimal signs of aging, it opens with textbook aromas of ripe black fruits, smoky tobacco, scorched earth and spice. Medium to full-bodied, it is beautifully balanced with polished tannins, impressive mid-palate depth and a long, satisfying finish. Fully mature yet capable of another two decades of graceful drinking, it is a quintessential Graves that continues to reveal more complexity throughout the evening.
