Chateau Grand Puy Ducasse 2014 750ml

This is a particularly rich wine for the vintage offering a well structured palate with ripe black fruit flavors of cassis and plum with some licorice on the finish.  Well defined supporting tannins and a streak of graphite.  Enjoy this classy red with grilled steak, mushrooms and roasted vegetables.

The forthright cassis note is immediately appealing, then the rather bold tannic structure sneaks up on you and shows that this is a serious wine. Maybe not quite the power and length of the appellation’s top wines in 2014, but still an impressive wine.  (2/2017)
