About the Chateau Grand-Pontet 2010
Chateau Grand-Pontet 2010 is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru red with ripe black fruit, concentrated berry character, firm tannins, and an elegant woody dimension. The palate is powerful, rich, and fleshy, supported by structured tannins and an ample, persistent finish with attractive spice notes.
Food Pairing: Pairs best with roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, braised short ribs, and mushroom gratin.
93 Points - James Suckling
Aromas of incense, ripe berries and flowers lead into a full-bodied palate with velvety tannins and ripe fruit. The wine requires time to come together.
90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The wine has a full-bodied, luscious and succulent mid-palate, providing accessibility despite elevated tannins through the long finish. It is well-made and represents one of the stronger values of Saint-Emilion.
90 Points - Wine Spectator
Showy and densely layered, with cassis, blackberry, plum and pastry-like fruit flavors supported by a strong graphite character through the finish.
