About the Chateau Fonroque 2020
The 2020 Château Fonroque is an organically and biodynamically farmed Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, plum, violet, cocoa, crushed stone, and sweet baking spices. Silky tannins, vibrant freshness, and layered dark fruit deliver an elegant, complex palate with outstanding balance and exceptional aging potential.
Food Pairing: Pair with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, braised short ribs, wild mushroom risotto, aged Comté, or truffle-infused dishes.
92 Points - James Suckling
This has aromas of iodine, musk, spice box and salted plums. Full-bodied, with creamy, soft tannins. Spicy and plush. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink from 2024.
91 Points - Wine Spectator
Youthfully juicy and compact, with a bramble note wrapped around a core of black currant and fig preserves. The finish is coated with tobacco and tar accents, giving the distinct feel of a warm vintage wine. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2024 through 2034. 8,334 cases made, 600 cases imported.
