100 Points - James Suckling
The 2020 Château Figeac is breathtaking, opening with mesmerizing aromas of violets, red roses, cherries, currants, black truffles and mineral notes. Full-bodied yet remarkably refined, it is defined by ultra-fine tannins that carry seamlessly across the palate. Perfectly ripened fruit is complemented by a subtle hazelnut nuance, creating an exceptionally transparent, harmonious and elegant wine. Crafted from 37% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc and 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is a truly extraordinary expression of Figeac.
100 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2020 Château Figeac is considered the finest wine produced by the estate since its modern renaissance began. Aromas of blackberries, raspberries, cigar wrapper, pencil shavings, licorice and black truffle lead into a medium- to full-bodied palate of remarkable depth, concentration and elegance. Vibrant acidity, refined tannins and exceptional complexity perfectly express the estate's unique terroir, resulting in a harmonious wine built for decades of evolution.
98 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
Composed of 37% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc and 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, and aged for 18 months in new French oak, the 2020 Château Figeac offers striking aromas of crème de cassis, ripe black cherries, iron, spring flowers and a distinctive saline minerality. Full-bodied with a seamless texture, beautifully integrated oak and superb tannins, it remains youthful and tightly wound. Cellar for 8–10 years, then enjoy over the following 30+ years.
97 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Following its promotion to Premier Grand Cru Classé A, Château Figeac delivers a wine of outstanding quality. Rich in Cabernet Sauvignon, it offers an impressive structure supported by refined, velvety tannins. Concentrated and serious, it is only beginning its long evolution in bottle.
96 Points - Decanter
Repeated tastings have consistently confirmed the quality of the 2020 Château Figeac. Aromas of sumptuous black fruit emerge beneath restrained oak, while the palate is velvety, concentrated and elegantly balanced. Though slightly broader than the 2016, it gains impressive length with aeration and showcases remarkable finesse. Only one-third of the harvest was selected for the grand vin.
96 Points - Wine Spectator
A broad-shouldered, powerful wine that captures the warmth of the vintage through concentrated cassis and blackberry flavors accented by tobacco leaf, warm earth and savory complexity. Firm yet polished, it finishes with lingering mineral and paving stone notes that reflect its exceptional terroir. Crafted from Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2030 through 2040.
