About the Chateau Ferriere 2014
Chateau Ferriere is a Margaux red wine from a historic Third Growth estate. Its vineyard is planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. The wine reflects its gravel-rich Margaux terroir through structured fruit, freshness, fine tannins, and an elegant Bordeaux profile.
Food Pairing: Pairs best with herb-crusted lamb rack, grilled beef tenderloin, roast duck, or mushroom gratin.
94 Points - James Suckling
Aromas of blackberries, blueberries and violets follow through to a full body, firm and silky tannins and a fresh finish. Very pretty and refined. Better in 2018.
93 Points - Wine Enthusiast
This wine is firm and structured, with dark tannins and concentrated black-currant fruit. It has weight and density while maintaining the freshness of the vintage. The wine needs time to develop, allowing its fruit and structure to integrate.
91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2014 Ferriere has a fragrant bouquet with blackberry, raspberry and cedar scents, nicely defined and gaining intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity and a composed, elegant finish that shows good persistence.
