98 Points - James Suckling
The 2015 Château Cos d'Estournel is beautifully complex, offering captivating aromas of nutmeg, cloves, dried flowers, plums and blackberries. Full-bodied and impeccably integrated, it combines ultra-fine tannins with remarkable harmony and texture. Refined yet powerful, the wine delivers an exceptionally long finish that lingers for minutes, capturing the unmistakable character of Cos d'Estournel.
96 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Rich yet classically styled, this wine balances ripe black fruit with elegant structure. Fine tannins support flavors of black currant while vibrant acidity brings freshness and precision. Built for long-term aging, it will reward patience and is best enjoyed from 2027 onward.
Cellar Selection
95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Composed of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23.5% Merlot and 1.5% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Château Cos d'Estournel reveals subtle aromas of cherry tart, chocolate mint, baked red currants, cassis, wild blueberries, lilac, cinnamon and exotic spices. Medium- to full-bodied, it bursts across the palate with vibrant red and black fruits framed by powerful yet polished tannins and lively freshness, finishing with exceptional length and precision.
94 Points - Decanter
Opulent, generous and confidently styled, the 2015 Château Cos d'Estournel displays rich fruit with notes of caramel that reflect the warmth of the growing season. Although surprisingly approachable in its youth, it possesses the structure to evolve beautifully. Expected to close down with additional bottle age, it is best enjoyed after four to five years and should continue developing gracefully for well over a decade.
93 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
A classic expression of Cos d'Estournel, the 2015 is crafted from 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and the remainder Cabernet Franc. Aromas of crème de cassis, black raspberry, toasted oak, graphite and damp earth lead to a medium- to full-bodied palate with polished tannins, excellent depth and a refined finish. It will benefit from short-term cellaring and should drink beautifully for the next 20 years.
92 Points - Wine Spectator
A gently layered core of currant, plum and black cherry is accented by black tea, singed juniper and smoldering tobacco. The vintage's structure is softened by a polished touch of toasted oak, creating an elegant and well-balanced finish. A strong showing that will drink best from 2020 through 2032.
