Chateau Chasse Spleen 2022

The 2022 Château Chasse-Spleen is a classic and intensely structured Moulis, benefiting from a high-concentration vintage that produced small, flavor-dense berries. It presents a deep ruby-red hue and opens with a complex, primary bouquet of blackcurrant, Bing cherry, and blackberry, seamlessly layered with notes of pencil shavings, tobacco leaf, and subtle licorice spice. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied and powerful, showcasing a "tightly knit" texture with firm, chalky tannins and a vibrant, saline acidity. Aged for 12 to 18 months in French oak (40% new), it delivers a long, precise finish with lingering impressions of graphite, dark fruit, and cocoa.
