About the Chateau Cap de Faugeres 2020
Château Cap de Faugères 2020 is a plush, vibrant, and beautifully balanced red wine hailing from the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, situated adjacent to Saint-Émilion. Owned by Silvio Denz and crafted with expert guidance from consulting winemaker Michel Rolland, this Merlot-forward blend showcases the density and aromatic precision of the excellent 2020 vintage. In the glass, it presents a deep garnet-purple color and opens with a fragrant bouquet of ripe dark plums, black cherries, and wild blueberries, interwoven with notes of violets, licorice, and subtle cocoa. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, supple, and refined, offering a succulent core of sweet black fruits supported by soft, polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a clean, pleasantly lingering finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with roasted lamb chops, braised beef short ribs, grilled pork loin, duck breast ragù, or medium-aged cheeses.
92 Points - James Suckling
A medium-bodied red with plum and berry. Soft and refined with nice, ripe and creamy tannins. Very polished.
