About the Chateau Cap de Faugeres
Château Cap de Faugères is a polished, highly expressive estate-bottled red wine from the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, situated directly adjacent to Saint-Émilion on Bordeaux's Right Bank. Owned by Silvio Denz and crafted under the guidance of renowned consulting oenologist Michel Rolland, the estate benefits from exceptional clay-limestone soils that lend generous depth and refined structure to its Merlot-dominant blends. The wine opens with enticing aromas of black cherry, dark plum, and cassis, seamlessly layered with subtle notes of cocoa, tobacco leaf, and crushed stone minerality. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, offering a plush, mouth-coating core of rich dark fruit supported by ripe, fine-grained tannins and a balanced freshness that leads into a long, fragrant finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs brilliantly with roasted lamb, braised beef short ribs, duck breast, rich meat ragù, and aged hard cheeses.
