About the Chateau Angelus 2018
Chateau Angelus is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru produced from an estate vineyard dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with Petit Verdot also planted. Its south-facing clay-limestone terroir contributes to a style combining density, freshness, silky tannins, elegance, and precision, with each vintage blended individually.
Food Pairing: Pairs best with roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, braised short ribs, or duck breast.
100 Points - Wine Enthusiast
This is a rich, perfumed wine with layers of black fruits and powerful tannins. Its structure and concentration are balanced by freshness, giving the wine impressive depth and aging potential.
99 Points - James Suckling
A very deep and rich Angelus with aromas of blackberries, blueberries, violets and dark chocolate. Full-bodied and powerful with polished, fine-grained tannins, concentrated fruit and impressive length on the finish.
97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2018 Angelus displays deep garnet-purple color and expressive aromas of blackberries, black cherries and plums with floral, spice and earthy nuances. Full-bodied, concentrated and richly textured, it combines firm tannins with freshness and a long, layered finish.
