Chateau Angelus is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru produced from an estate vineyard dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with Petit Verdot also planted. Its south-facing clay-limestone terroir contributes to a style combining density, freshness, silky tannins, elegance, and precision, with each vintage blended individually.

Food Pairing: Pairs best with roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, braised short ribs, or duck breast.

100 Points - Wine Enthusiast

This is a rich, perfumed wine, with dense tannins and intense layers of black plum and spice. The palate is firmly built yet broadened out by plump dark-fruit tones and honed by a solid, dry core. Drink from 2025.

99 Points - James Suckling

Subtle and profound aromas of blackberries, wet earth and sweet tobacco, with hints of spice. Full-bodied, exceptionally deep and remarkably long, with firm, powerful tannins that remain polished and balanced. The finish continues for minutes.

98 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Angelus shows powerful blackberry, black cherry and black plum notes with star anise, floral, chocolate-mint, pencil-shaving and smoky nuances. Rich and generously fruited yet fresh and vibrant, with velvety tannins and exceptional length.

96 Points - Wine Spectator

Roasted tobacco, espresso and loam lead the profile, backed by dark currant and fig fruit. Energetic and juicy through the palate, the wine develops a smoky, alluring, tobacco-driven character as its components come together.
