Chateau Angelus is one of Saint Emilion's most iconic estates, celebrated for its richness, elegance, and exceptional longevity. Predominantly Cabernet Franc and Merlot, it reveals aromas of black cherry, cassis, plum, violet, graphite, dark chocolate, and sweet spice. From a vintage that is now beginning to show beautifully, the 2011 Château Angélus combines elegance with the estate's signature richness. A blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc, aged in new oak barrels, it remains youthful in color and offers aromas of black currants, spice box and dried earth. Medium- to full-bodied, it is beautifully balanced, with sweet tannins, excellent purity and a long, satisfying finish. It should continue to drink well for another two decades or more.

The 2011 Château Angélus is another impressive success from Hubert de Boüard. Supple and seductive, it delivers generous flavors of blueberry and black raspberry accented by licorice, barbecue smoke and camphor. Medium- to full-bodied with a silky texture, it is already drinking beautifully and promises even greater complexity over the coming decade. It should continue to evolve gracefully for at least 15 more years.
