About the Eric Rodez Empreinte de Terroir Noire 2006
The single grape variety of Empreinte de Terroir seeks only to emphasize the characteristics of the vineyard terroir, across the vineyards, and waltzing across the vintages. For some vintages, the comparison of varieties bring an extra dimension.
White gold in colour, this vintage is mature with beautiful minerals and aromas of cherries and baked brioche. The palate is refreshing, pure and salty. It is complex with great finesse on its finish.
94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The white-golden colored 2006 Ambonnay Pinot Noir Grand Cru Brut Empreinte de Terroir offers a matured, vinous, beautifully clear and mineral Pinot bouquet with cherry, cold stones and brioche aromas. Pure, fresh and complex on the palate, this is a dense and vinous, very salty and remarkably finessed Pinot Noir that assembles the fruits from six different lieux-dits. The average age of the selected vines is 42 years. The 2006 fermented in small oak vats and was bottled in early May 2007. No malolactic fermentation.
