The Chalone Vineyard Estate Grown Chardonnay is an elegant, sophisticated, and deeply complex New World white wine crafted in a traditional Burgundian style. It pours a brilliant pale gold colour in the glass, lifting with an immediate, aromatic bouquet of ripe Bosc pear, lemon curd, and fresh white peach, seamlessly layered with complex undertones of toasted brioche, crushed wet stone, wildflower honey, and a hint of vanilla oak. On the palate, this full-bodied Chardonnay is remarkably smooth, rich, and textural, coating the mouth with pure, velvety intensities of spiced baked apple and mandarin orange balanced by a distinct, chalky mineral core derived from ancient limestone. Matured carefully in fine French oak barriques with complete malolactic conversion, it is driven by a vibrant, food-friendly acidity that carries into an exceptionally long, persistent finish accented by a lingering touch of citrus zest and toasty hazelnut.
