Roland Lavantureux Chablis Vauprin 2022

Sourced from the Vauprin vineyard in Chablis, this Chardonnay delivers vibrant citrus, green apple and chalky mineral notes with excellent precision. Bright acidity and subtle texture create a refined, balanced palate that finishes clean and persistent with classic Chablis character.

Coming from a 1.8ha plot, at one of the highest plantings of AP Chablis, this has more concentration than brothers David and Arnaud's 'straight' Chablis, with an additional mineral character balancing the concentration of fruit on the palate. Manages to have weight and force, yet remains light and delicate on its feet. A touch of wood adds a different type of complexity on the palate.

Pale lemon yellow. The bouquet is ultra refined and ultra chiselled together. So crisp and attractively saline with the purest of white fruits. Immaculate and exceptionally persistent. Razor sharp all the way through, the most complete and balanced wine. Superb length, lifted and lovely.

The 2022 Chablis Vauprin has another impressive nose: taut and delineated. The nose suggests a Premier Cru with a clever reduction that reflects astute winemaking. The palate is nicely balanced, with a citrus-fresh entry, lively and animated, leading to a bright and vibrant finish.
