About the Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseur's Choice Glen Grant 1997 Cask 56927
Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseur's Choice Glen Grant 1997 Cask 56927 is a single cask Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distilled at the Glen Grant Distillery on April 24, 1997. Aged for 26 years in a refill American oak hogshead (Cask #56927), it was bottled at cask strength on October 31, 2023, by independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail for their Connoisseurs Choice series.
Food Pairing: Roasted pork belly with apple compote, grilled lobster tails with lemon butter, fruit tarts, almond biscotti, or aged Gouda cheese.
Tasting Notes : Pale golden straw in appearance with a smooth, medium-to-full, and refined mouthfeel.
Nose : Fresh lemon zest, watermelon, roasted peanuts, crisp red apple, cocoa powder, and soft vanilla oak.
Palate : Creamy malted barley, bright orchard fruits, citrus peel, toasted almonds, light honey, and gentle oak spice.
Finish : Long, clean, and warming with lingering notes of crisp fruit, soft cocoa, and delicate wood spice.
Serve : Serve neat at room temperature in a Glencairn or tulip-shaped tasting glass, or add a few drops of water to open up the delicate fruit aromas and temper the cask strength.
