A monumental and highly acclaimed high-altitude Malbec, the 2020 Catena Alta Historic Rows is a seamless blend of small lots from the Catena family’s estate vineyards. This vintage exhibits a deep, opaque violet colour and an intense aromatic profile of ripe blackberries, black plums, and blueberries, elegantly layered with notes of violets, graphite, and sweet tobacco. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and concentrated, showcasing a dense core of dark fruit supported by firm, fine-grained tannins and a characteristic stony minerality. The finish is remarkably long and persistent, balancing power with the refreshing acidity typical of high-altitude viticulture. It is widely considered a benchmark vintage for this label, consistently receiving high scores from top critics.
