About the Cascahuin Blanco Tequila
Cascahuín Blanco Tequila is a phenomenal, deeply traditional expression that stands as a benchmark for authentic, artisanal blanco tequila. Produced at the renowned Cascahuín Distillery (NOM 1123) in El Arenal, Jalisco, this spirit is crafted using 100% blue Weber agave cooked in traditional stone ovens (hornos) for up to 72 hours. The cooked agave is crushed using a combination of a roller mill and a traditional tahona, fermented in masonry tanks, and double-distilled in small copper pot stills. Unaged and bottled directly from the still, Cascahuín Blanco showcases the raw, unadulterated essence of highland agave, offering a vibrant balance of earthy minerals, bright citrus, and pungent herbal complexities.
Food Pairing: This crisp, mineral-forward blanco pairs exquisitely with fresh seafood like ceviche, fish tacos, raw oysters, or grilled shrimp with garlic and lime. It also beautifully cuts through the richness of traditional Mexican dishes like chicken enmoladas, pork carnitas, or fresh guacamole with salty tortilla chips.
TASTING NOTES - Crystal clear with bright silver highlights and excellent clarity. The texture is medium-bodied, remarkably clean, and crisp with a light oily coating across the palate.
NOSE - Vibrant and highly aromatic, opening with a powerful wave of sweet cooked agave, wet cement, and clean rain mineral earthiness. This is layered with bright citrus zest, green pepper, fresh mint, and a touch of black pepper.
PALATE - Forward, clean, and full of character. Intense flavors of caramelized agave and earthy minerals take center stage, seamlessly followed by a burst of lime rind, grapefruit, herbal lemongrass, and a pleasant, tingling peppery heat.
FINISH - Medium to long, crisp, and exceptionally refreshing. The citrus notes fade cleanly, leaving a lingering, satisfying baseline of sweet cooked agave, earthy clay, and a soft, warming black pepper spice.
SERVE - Best enjoyed neat at room temperature in a traditional Riedel tequila glass or a spirits snifter to fully appreciate its complex agave aromatics. Its clean, punchy profile also makes it an extraordinary, ultra-premium base for a classic Margarita or a refreshing Paloma.
