Casale Del Giglio Bellone Lazio

This white wine is a modern revival of an ancient Roman grape variety, Bellone, which was once praised by Pliny the Elder as "Uva Pantastica." Produced by Casale del Giglio in the province of Latina, the grapes are sourced from coastal vineyards near Anzio, where sandy soils and sea breezes create a unique microclimate. The winemaking involves spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and a brief maceration on the skins to enhance aromatic intensity. It presents a deep golden-yellow hue and a complex profile of ripe tropical fruits like mango and papaya, balanced by a vibrant, zesty acidity and a persistent mineral finish.
