About the Valinch & Mallet Caroni Rum 24 Year Old 57.90% ABV 700ml
Valinch & Mallet has selected a Caroni for the 4th edition of its collection The Spirit of Art.
This rum was distilled in 1997 from molasses in the mythical Caroni distillery. This distillery closed since 2000 is famous for its "heavy" rums.
Initially these distillates were reserved for blends, in particular for the Royal Navy. The ageing started in a tropical climate, then it ended in Scotland.
This selection was bottled in 2022 without reduction at 245 copies. As is customary with this independent London bottler, the rum was not filtered and no additions were made.
The artist Laura Omacini created the artwork on the back label.
