About the Caprili 'AdAlberto' Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2016
Caprili Adalberto Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2016 is an extraordinary, single-vineyard flagship red wine produced by Azienda Agricola Caprili in the famed Montalcino region of Tuscany. Sourced exclusively from the winery's single-hectare "Adalberto" parcel planted in rocky clay soils, this Riserva undergoes extended oak aging to achieve immense depth, complexity, and longevity. In the glass, it presents a deep garnet-ruby hue. The aromatic bouquet features enticing notes of ripe Morello cherry, wild raspberry, leather, and forest floor, complemented by nuances of dried violet, licorice, tobacco, and subtle exotic spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied, rich, and impeccably balanced, offering intense dark berry and savory flavors underpinned by vibrant natural acidity and firm, silky-smooth tannins that lead into a long, mineral-driven finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs exceptionally well with roasted leg of lamb, Florentine T-bone steak, braised wild boar, venison ragù, truffle dishes, and aged Pecorino Toscano cheese.

97 Points - Wine Spectator
A taut, linear red, hallmarked by cherry, strawberry, green olive, rose, sanguine and iron aromas and flavors. This is packed with fruit, backed by a solid matrix of tannins and an aftertaste of wild herbs, fruit and tobacco. Best from 2026 through 2045.
96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The Caprili 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva AdAlberto (with only 5,000 bottles produced) is a standout wine, showing intensity, smooth integration and lots of varietal personality. "Classic" is probably the best word to apply here, and I use that descriptor with care. The tannins are expertly integrated, and even at this young age, the wine shows no rough edges. It is polished and integrated to the end. Fruit comes from a single hectare of vines with rocky clay soils that lock in important moisture during the summer months.
