About the Cambus 1990 34 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky
Cambus 1990 34 Year Old is a mature single grain Scotch whisky from the historic Cambus Distillery in Scotland's Lowland region. Distilled in 1990 and aged for 34 years, this expression was bottled at 47.2% ABV. Cambus Distillery closed in 1993, making surviving stocks a fascinating part of Scotland's whisky heritage. This long-aged release offers collectors and whisky enthusiasts an opportunity to explore the character of a historic closed distillery.
Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with aged Gouda, roasted almonds, buttery shortbread, crème brûlée and caramel desserts. White chocolate, toasted hazelnuts and vanilla pastries also make appealing accompaniments.
Tasting Notes: A richly layered single grain Scotch whisky combining tropical fruit, waxy sweetness, buttery confectionery and mature oak complexity. Its rum-barrel finish introduces notes of honeyed melon, sweet pastries and gentle spice.
Nose: Fresh fruit salad, brown butter cookies, maple pancakes and candied nuts, followed by waxed citrus, fresh leather and polished oak.
Palate: Waffles, honey, fresh melon, lychee and buttery fudge, balanced by rich old oak and a touch of drying spice.
Finish: Lingering leather, oak, cigar box spice, stewed fruits, butter biscuits and honeycomb wax.
