Cafaggio Basilica Solatìo Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2017 is an organic single-vineyard red wine crafted from pure Sangiovese grown in the renowned Conca d'Oro basin of Panzano in Chianti. Sourced from the south-facing Solatìo plot planted on marl and limestone soils, it undergoes maturation in Slavonian oak barrels. In the glass, it presents a deep ruby color with aromatics of dark cherries, baked plums, and sweet wild berries, seamlessly integrated with notes of scorched earth, white pepper, dried Mediterranean herbs, and subtle salted chocolate. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and savory, featuring firm yet silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, balanced, spice-infused finish.
