Cadenhead Chairman's Stock North British 40 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky

Cadenhead Chairman's Stock North British 40 Year Old is an exceptionally mature single grain Scotch whisky from North British Distillery in Scotland's Lowland region. Distilled in 1985 and bottled in October 2025 at a natural cask strength of 51.9% ABV, this remarkable expression spent four decades maturing in a refill sherry butt. Selected from the late Hedley G. Wright's private collection for Cadenhead's Chairman's Stock series, this limited release of just 498 bottles showcases the refined complexity of long-aged grain whisky, balancing creamy sweetness, rich cereal character, delicate herbal aromas and elegant nutty depth.

Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with roasted almonds, aged Gouda, buttery shortbread, caramelized white chocolate and crème brûlée. Toffee pudding, almond biscotti and dark chocolate truffles also complement its mature, creamy character.

Tasting Notes: A beautifully layered single grain Scotch whisky featuring coconut milk, brown sugar, toasted cereals, rich toffee and delicate herbal complexity. Forty years of maturation contribute an elegant, creamy texture with distinctive nutty sweetness and a refined finish.

Nose: Nettle soup, coconut milk and delicate hoppy aromas create an unusual and inviting aromatic profile.

Palate: Brown sugar, rye bread, brandy-like richness, toffee penny sweets and toasted oats deliver a rounded combination of sweetness and cereal complexity.

Finish: Creamy and lingering, with aniseed, caramelized white chocolate, almonds and a pleasantly nutty character.
