Cadenhead's Enigma Orkney 8 Years Old 2016

Cadenhead's Enigma Orkney 8 Year Old 2016 is a cask-strength single malt Scotch whisky sourced from an undisclosed distillery on the Orkney Islands and independently bottled by William Cadenhead. Distilled in 2016 and fully matured for eight years in ex-Bourbon barrels, it was bottled in August 2025 at 57.5% ABV. The whisky combines vibrant tropical fruit and rich pastry-like sweetness with coastal salinity and a subtle smoky character. 

Food Pairing: Pair with smoked salmon, grilled prawns, roast pork, aged cheddar, buttery pastries or banana-based desserts.

Tasting Notes: Bright and tropical with buttery pastry, chewy toffee and syrupy sweetness balanced by coastal salinity and subtle smoke.

Nose: Tropical fruit salad, chewy toffee bar and shortcrust pastry.

Palate: Papaya, guava, plantain, croissant and syrup.

Finish: Tangy and saline with Himalayan pink salt and ripe banana.
