Cadenhead's Enigma Blended Malt 27 Year Old 1997

Cadenhead's Enigma Blended Malt 27 Year Old 1997 is a mature blended malt Scotch whisky from independent bottler William Cadenhead. Produced as a “teaspooned” malt, its precise distillery composition remains undisclosed. Distilled in 1997 and matured for 27 years in Bourbon hogsheads, it was bottled in August 2024 at 51.8% ABV. Limited to 1,140 bottles, this long-aged release combines orchard fruit and honeyed sweetness with creamy malt, gentle spice and mature oak. 

Food Pairing: Pair with aged Gouda, roast pork, honey-glazed ham, toasted almonds, pear tart or caramel desserts.

Tasting Notes: Fruity and honeyed with creamy confectionery notes, orchard fruit, warm spice and a fresh herbal finish.

Nose: Custard cream biscuits, pears, cinnamon, warm pastry and butterscotch mousse.

Palate: Sweet oat biscuits, honeycomb, nutmeg and gooseberries.

Finish: Mint leaves, white grapes, treacle and root ginger.
