Buoncristiani O.P.C. Proprietary Red 2019 is a sophisticated and multi-layered blend crafted by the four Buoncristiani brothers as a tribute to their grandfather, "Ol' Pa." This "Old Pa’s Cuvée" is a unique marriage of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, further enriched with Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. The fruit is sourced from premier hillside and valley floor vineyards, including the renowned Stagecoach and Hossfeld sites. The wine was matured for 20 months in premium French oak barrels to harmonize its diverse components.
On the nose, it offers an intense and youthful bouquet of fresh blueberries, blackcurrants, and blackberries, accented by sophisticated notes of spearmint, star anise, and dried violets. The palate is full-bodied and remarkably balanced, showcasing a supple, creamy texture and velvety tannins. Expressive layers of dark forest fruit are complemented by savory hints of tobacco leaf, mocha, and tilled soil, leading to a long and vibrant finish.
