Martoccia di Brunelli Luca Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2015 750ml

Brunello di Montalcino is surely one of the most well-known and treasured wines  in the world. It is a red wine of extraordinary elegance and concentration obtained from  a long ageing process. It has a full and ethereal fragrance  with hints of wild berries,  black cherry and vanilla.

Deep ruby red, tending to garnet. Complex and intense aroma  of cherry, raspberry, licorice and balsam notes.  Full bodied , with balanced tannins and nice acidity with a long aftertaste of ripe fruit  and spices.

I am impressed by this wine from Martoccia, a produceri was not previously familiar with. The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva opens to black fruit aromas with plum, blackberry and dried cherry. Perhaps the tannins are a bit dry (you feel that on the palate), otherwise this pretty wine has the natural acidity and freshness to pair with grilled sirloin or lamb. Only 5.000 bottles were made.

Rich and layered with ripe tannins and chocolate and walnut character. Full body and layers of fruit. Lots of fruit and structure. Drinkable now, but better in 2022.
