About the Brumont Chateau Montus Prestige 1999
Brumont Château Montus Prestige 1999 is a legendary, massive, and highly structured dry red wine from the steep, pebble-covered clay slopes of Madiran in Southwest France. Crafted by the visionary winemaker Alain Brumont, this landmark bottling is made entirely from low-yielding Tannat vines. Now having reached its peak maturity, the wine displays an incredible depth of character, offering expressive aromas of dried dark berries, black plum skins, and well-worn leather, beautifully layered with secondary notes of wild forest floor, dry tobacco, and cocoa. On the palate, its historically powerful tannins have softened into a velvety, complex frame with superb balance and length.
Food Pairing: This robust, mature Tannat pairs magnificently with traditional French cassoulet, slow-braised wild boar stew, or roasted venison served with a rich mushroom sauce.
