About the Bruichladdich Black Art Edition 04.1 23 Year Old 1990
Bruichladdich Black Art Edition 04.1 23 Year Old 1990 is an unpeated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky and the fourth release in Bruichladdich's enigmatic Black Art series. Distilled in 1990 and matured for 23 years, this expression was created by legendary Master Distiller Jim McEwan using a secret combination of casks involving American and French oak. Bottled at 49.2% ABV with natural colour and without chill filtration, Black Art 04.1 delivers a deeply layered profile of ripe fruit, honey, citrus, chocolate, tropical fruit and warming spice.
Food Pairing: Pair with dark chocolate, apricot tart, caramelized peaches, aged cheese, roasted almonds or crème brûlée.
Tasting Notes: Rich and complex with crystallized fruit, honey and citrus developing into chocolate, tropical fruit, barley sweetness and warming spice.
Nose: Crystallized grapes, honey, lemon and lime with mature fruit and subtle coastal freshness.
Palate: Chocolate, coconut, tangerine and papaya with barley sugar, cinnamon and aniseed.
Finish: Long and elegant with grilled peach, apricot and lingering demerara sweetness.
