We don't see a lot (or nearly enough, anyway) independent Bruichladdich releases. Nice to see something in a more restrained style and with a decent amount of age on it. Ex-Bourbon matured 18-year-old whisky, limited to just a handful of bottles.
German independent bottler The Whisky Agency has released this single cask Bruichladdich after 18 years maturing in an ex-bourbon barrel. It has aromas of dried meat and melon, honey and lemongrass on the nose, with toasted malt, citrus oil and butterscotch on the palate.
