About the Brittan Pinot Noir Basalt Block
It leaps from the glass with concentrated aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry compote, and red-currant over notes of rose petal, black-tea leaf, and the distinctive basalt-driven scent of warm river rock. Estate vines rooted in fractured volcanic soils at 700 feet produce tiny berries packed with flavor and mineral tension, while cool Van Duzer Corridor breezes preserve brisk acidity. Silky yet sinewy tannins frame juicy cherry and pomegranate on the palate, then tighten around hints of savory spice, cocoa dust, and crushed stone as the long finish unfurls—an elegant, age-worthy expression of McMinnville’s high-altitude terroir.
Food pairing: Roast salmon, duck breast with cherry glaze, mushroom-truffle risotto, herb-crusted pork loin, grilled portobello burgers, or aged Gruyère.
