About the Bowmore 23 Year Old Port Matured 50.8% ABV 750ml
From one of the oldest and most iconic disilleries in Scotland (not to mention, one of my favorites as well) comes this extremely limited special release. If you've ever been fortunate enough to visit the distillery, and have navigated your way through some of the most esteemed warehouses in the world, you'll know there are many different barrel types slumbering away at Bowmore. Some turn out...well...just 'okay' and end up being married with other barrels in mass vattings for the mainstream releases. Others are special. They get put aside and lovingly doted on until the time is right for bottling. And in 2013, it was finally decided the time was right for this one.
An outturn of 12,000 bottles doesn't go very far, and I'm sad to say that we only have one bottle left of this gorgeous 1989 vintage. Don't sleep on this one.
