Bowmore 51 Year Old 1971 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Bowmore 1971 51 Year Old is an extraordinarily rare Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky representing more than half a century of maturation at one of Scotland's most historic distilleries. Distilled in 1971, this limited-edition Bowmore was matured in Sherry-seasoned European oak casks before undergoing its final maturation in Oloroso Sherry butts. Bottled at 45.3% ABV after 51 years, only 351 bottles were released.

Decades of maturation have created an exceptionally deep and complex expression while preserving Bowmore's characteristic fruit and peat smoke. Rich blackcurrant and coffee aromas meet smouldering peat before the palate develops tropical fruit, dark berries, chocolate, walnuts and mature oak. The finish is long, fruity and smoky, with beautifully integrated aromatic wood.

Food Pairing: Best appreciated on its own, though it can be paired with fine dark chocolate, roasted walnuts, mature cheese or restrained berry-based desserts.

Tasting Notes: Exceptionally mature and complex, combining dark fruit, tropical fruit, coffee, chocolate, walnuts, oak and beautifully integrated peat smoke.

Nose: Sweet blackcurrants and intense coffee unfold alongside rich, smouldering peat.

Palate: Mango and blackberry lead into dark cherries, walnuts, dark chocolate and mature oak.

Finish: Long, sweet and fruity with persistent smoke and weighty aromatic wood.
