About the Bos High Coast Peated 2012
Berry Bros. & Rudd Single Cask High Coast Peated 2012 Cask #4333 Swedish Single Malt Whisky is a limited single-cask release from High Coast Distillery in Sweden, independently selected and bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd. Distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2023, the whisky was matured in a barrel before spending its final two years in an ex-Islay cask. Bottled at natural cask strength of 59.8% ABV, Cask #4333 yielded just 243 bottles. The additional maturation emphasizes High Coast's peated character, bringing together clean smoke, fresh orchard fruit, mineral notes, wood ash, and lingering coastal peat.
Food Pairing: Smoked salmon, grilled lamb, roast pork, smoked Gouda, aged cheddar, roasted almonds, dark chocolate, and apple tart.
Tasting Notes: Powerful yet refined with clean peat smoke, crisp orchard fruit, icing sugar sweetness, wood ash, and pronounced minerality.
Nose: Clean, chiselled peat smoke followed by fresh orchard fruit and icing sugar.
Palate: Powerful and sophisticated with peat smoke, crisp green apples, wood ash, and mineral character.
Finish: Long and smoky with lingering peat, ash, fruit, and mineral notes.
The tasting notes above follow Berry Bros. & Rudd's own notes for Cask #4333.
